Krystal Sarcone

In 2017 I obtained my Master's in Public Health (MPH) from Brown University then continued on to another accelerated masters program in Public Affairs.

The next segment of my journey through academia makes use of developed and strengthened competencies.

Inspired by my most profound and recent love of spatial relationships and concepts of place and how they impact health outcomes,  I am currently and passionately applying for a PhD program in Geography.

My specific doctoral research interest will use mixed methods and focus on the interplay between climate change and infectious disease (malaria) management from a more anthropological perspective in tropical Africa.

TEDx Talk

Krystal talks about what it was like to spend the first 6 years of her life deaf, her transition to partial/half hearing and then eventually, at the age of 18, to near-full hearing. What made this experience unique and particularly challenging was that before the age of 7 Krystal had no exposure to a formal language, spoken or signed.
